Amidst the rolling hills of the southwest of France, on the border between the Lot-et-Garonne and Dordogne regions, you will find this luxurious holiday villa that welcomes five guests. Besides a wealth of original features, this holiday residence comprises a delightful private pool with sun deck, a Jacuzzi (available in June and September) and a sheltered terrace with splendid views across the valley of the river Dropt. Your holiday home is a veritable oasis of rest and relaxation, where children have free rein to run around and play to their hearts’ content. Let go of everyday worries and soak up the laid-back ambiance.
The villa is located next to the residence of the (extremely friendly) Dutch owners, but offers complete and utter privacy. Your holiday villa, designed with the utmost comfort in mind, is reached through the convivial, shared interior court with its 100-year old olive tree. The design, with its clear and light colours, paired with the whitewashed interior walls, floor coverings in natural stone and beams crafted from light-coloured wood, ensure that the overall impression is one of quiet stylishness. The Jøtul wood burner is incorporated into the ancient stone fireplace and ensures a warm and convivial ambiance outside the main season. The bedrooms are equipped with beds of the highest quality so you can enjoy a good night’s sleep and wake up in luxury.
The doors at the rear of the villa open up to the outside terrace. This comes fully equipped with a Jacuzzi and a lovely set of furniture simply perfect for lounging around and enjoying the peace and quiet. Admire the impressive panoramas and, with a bit of luck, spot a few small deer nibbling at the grass in the meadow. The terrace is covered in part, and yields direct views of your large, private 4m x 12m swimming pool. Under your supervision the kids can swim, play on the swings, dig around in the sandpit or even gather fresh eggs from the chicken coop, ready for breakfast.
This holiday villa is the ideal location to enjoy a relaxing day with a book and a good glass of wine, but there is far more to enjoy. Explore the unspoilt nature on foot, by bike or on horseback. A signposted bike and hike trail runs just past the threshold of your holiday residence. There is plenty to see and do in the immediate vicinity: unspoilt villages and ancient ‘bastides’ (fortified hill towns) and castles. There is a wealth of sporty activities for the whole family to enjoy. To name but a few: a canoe trip on the river Dordogne, a hot-air balloon flight or a visit to an adventure park where you can climb and clamber to your heart’s content.
