Maison Agora is idyllically located on a hill, overlooking the beautiful forest landscape of the
Dordogne, and is just a stone's throw away from the Dordogne river and various amenities. Close by,
you’ll find many different sights, charming medieval towns and countless opportunities for activities
and entertainment. Ideal for families with children and especially for nature lovers, golfers and
mountain bikers. And of course, for everyone who wants to discover the Dordogne with its great
historical and many culinary delights!
Maison Agora is a holiday home that can accommodate 12 people and lives up to its name. The
ancient Greek word ‘agora’ means 'gathering place', a place where social life takes place, where
people come together and relax. Together with the adjoining church, this former rectory stands in a
particularly atmospheric, romantic setting that exudes an enormous sense peace.
Your holiday home has been lovingly restored, and the characteristic features of the rectory have
been largely preserved. The wooden beamed ceilings, the fireplace and the antique piano provide a
particularly homely and warm feel. The terracotta floors, rustic furniture and a richly filled old
bookcase complete the ambience. The layout of the two sitting rooms will be changed and
supplemented with several seats so that everyone can find a suitable place to relax. The living room and the two bedrooms on the
ground floor have patio doors. It is a great feeling to wake up and walk barefoot into the garden to
enjoy the romantic atmosphere and the beautiful view, as the first warm rays of sun promise a
wonderful day again!
The fenced area around your holiday home covers no less than 4,000 m2 and allows you to enjoy
yourself without being disturbed. The garden seems endless and is a true paradise for children who
love to run around and play hide and seek in the bushes or play football on the enormous lawn. The
large swimming pool (12 x 5 m) and a beautiful sun terrace with various loungers and parasols
provide a means of keeping cool and relaxing. You can also sit comfortably in the conservatory next
to the house and underneath one of the many fruit trees while enjoying the view and the peaceful
atmosphere. Our favourite spot: under the pergola on the raised terrace next to the swimming pool,
looking at the old church... it left us speechless.
But there’s so much more! Go out and explore nature together with your friends or family and
children. Experience the many walking and cycling routes in the region, go canoeing, fishing or
swimming, visit the lively markets and night markets in the nearby area, discover the secrets of the
caves of Lascaux and Roc de Cazelle or enjoy a game of golf on the 18 hole golf course nearby. Why
not explore the Dordogne in a different way and go on a boat trip along beautiful castles in a
traditional Gabarre or in the hot air balloon gondola!
