Porte Bonheur is located in a small hamlet near Excideuil with magnificent views over the wonderfully peaceful surroundings of the Perigord region. This beautiful holiday home with guest accommodation guarantees complete privacy, thus offering a completely undisturbed holiday where you can enjoy all the beauty that the Dordogne has to offer.
When the Dutch owners discovered this piece of paradise by chance in 2010, it was love at first sight. Within a few years they created an attractive holiday villa with a private swimming pool and a beautiful guesthouse. Guests can unwind in complete privacy and enjoy sweeping views over the fields on 5000 m2 of private land.
This holiday villa is suitable for 6 people and has been furnished with great care and attention to detail. The large windows and patio doors are striking. These offer direct access to stunning natural surroundings and provide plenty of light to the interior. This shows just how well the high-quality building materials and authentic details have been implemented. The cosy living space is an inviting place to relax in the evening and in which to share the many delicacies that you may have purchased at the local market. It is connected to the open plan kitchen which has all the modern conveniences. The outdoor kitchen also invites you to prepare delicious meals. Enjoy a dinner together on the terrace where you can feel the tranquillity of the surroundings while eating and taking in the beautiful view and the sky’s spectacular range of colours as the sun sets.
The guesthouse accommodates 2 people and is located in one of the outbuildings. It is tastefully decorated and has a sleeping area with its own bathroom, a small kitchenette and a seating area. Of course there is also a private terrace here, where privacy is guaranteed.
It goes without saying that Porte Bonheur is also a place for guests to fully enjoy the great outdoors. Laze around or read a book on the sun terrace next to the large swimming pool, while the children run or play with their grandparents and / or your friends in the garden. Or relax with a nice cup of coffee during the morning light whilst discussing holiday plans. Explore the beautiful surroundings and go hiking, take a canoe trip, visit nearby villages or caves with prehistoric rock carvings, find treasures at a flea market or admire the many châteaux. A visit to the Hautefort Château, just a stone's throw away, is a must! The Dordogne, and its beautiful landscape, never gets boring.
