After her breakthrough as an international star in the 1920s, Baker found refuge in this castle in 1947, where she continued to shape her personal dreams and ideals. <\/p>\n\n<p>With its impressive architecture and beautiful gardens, Milandes reflects the vibrant spirit of Baker, who was not only a talented singer and dancer, but also a tireless human rights activist. Here, she adopted 12 children from different countries, whom she called her \u2018Raindrops\u2019, a symbol of unity and peace. <\/p>\n\n<p>Visitors can wander through the various rooms and enjoy Baker&#8217;s photographs, costumes and personal items. The gardens, chapel and <strong>birds of prey show<\/strong> are also worth a visit. In one of the outbuildings, you will find a cosy brasserie for a nice break.  <\/p>\n\n<p>A visit to this castle is a fine tribute to one of the most influential women of the 20th
