The 52 hectare private estate has woods, meadows, and a small lake and offers endless opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy themselves. The impressive 12th century country house was once a monastery. Its large rooms are divided across three floors and are connected to each other by a beautiful stone staircases. These, and the exposed stone walls, serve as reminders of the rich history of the building. Even the outbuildings, such as the dovecote ('pigeonnier'), the stables and the bread oven, echo an atmosphere of times gone by.
When you hire this holiday home, you get exclusive use of all the facilities. These include a private swimming pool, a tennis court, a covered terrace (with an open fire), a playground for the children and a large games area in the old stables. The village of St. Saud Lacoussière is on the River Dronne and is situated close to the picturesque and historic village of St. Jean de Côle and Thiviers (the capital of foie gras). The surrounding woods, rolling hills, and beautiful views will tempt you to enjoy stunning walks or bike rides.
