WELCOME TO
Au Bord de la Rivière
Sometimes, a holiday home stands out in terms of location and atmosphere... Au Bord de la Rivière is a nice example of this. This charming, typically French holiday home is located directly on the banks of the Dordogne river and has a beautiful view of the hilly, wooded landscape with its unspoiled nature. Peace and romance characterise a stay in this beautiful villa. In this magical spot, you can enjoy the cosy veranda, the lovely garden and, last but not least, the private swimming pool with sun terrace! It is not surprising that this house has been owned by the same family for 4 generations.
In Alles-sur-Dordogne, opposite the beautiful old church, you feel as though you are in a true holiday paradise, in unrivalled peace, with a view of the beautiful countryside where the rivers Vezère and Dordogne meet. Your holiday home is characterised by old, beautifully restored stone walls, authentic roof tiles and wooden shutters. The historic dovecote (pigeonnier) has also been preserved, and reminds you of bygone times. Thanks to the renovation, this holiday villa offers modern comfort while maintaining original features.
This holiday home has a cosy layout and a romantic atmosphere. The wooden beam ceiling, the stone walls and the wooden floors, combined with the fireplace and French windows, create an overall cosiness. In the well-equipped kitchen, you can prepare the most delicious dishes. You can serve them on the covered veranda, so you can enjoy an extended meal or a relaxed breakfast with the whole family. Later, you can dream away in a comfortable lounger on the terrace next to your own private swimming pool, while the kids are playing in the water or on the riverbank.
This holiday home is located in the sleepy town of Alles-sur-Dordogne, less than an hour’s drive from Bergerac airport. It is the perfect base from which to discover Périgord, one of the most beautiful areas in France. Visit one of the many caves, admire the prehistoric rock paintings and be surprised by the charm of the numerous medieval fortified towns, known as ‘bastides’. Go fishing from your own garden or have a picnic along the banks of the rivers and small lakes in this region, to experience that real French feeling!

Great family holiday in this lovely quiet house. Pool was the best feature - hours of fun.
Translated from Dutch - July
We had a wonderful family holiday with six adults in a spacious, comfortable and nice house in an idyllic place: on one side of the house a panoramic view of the Dordogne, on the other side a view into a beautiful Romanesque church. The sounds of bells, frogs and birds, the house-squirrel that visited every morning ... We immediately lost our hearts!
June (by Lisa and family from South-Africa)
Spending time here has been like stepping back in time where life was slower and more peaceful. Each time I set on the veranda I felt like I had been inserted into one of the impressionist’s paintings. Such beautiful scenery and colours. I kept trying to capture it on camera but photos just can’t do it justice. We loved swimming each day in the river and pool; all very magical. We will miss the house and the ringing of the chapel bell. We will always remember our time here!
