Nestled in the hills of the Dordogne, the house is tucked away at the end of a long driveway in a hilly area. Chavie is a luxury twelve-person holiday home in traditional style with a large private swimming pool. The house is spacious, bright and airy and is surrounded by a large garden and several terraces. An impressive millstone stands at the entrance to the site - a reminder of the region’s ancient agricultural life. This, combined with the wooden beams, beautiful flooring and fireplace, means that the house exudes a peaceful rural atmosphere. The interior is tastefully and carefully tailored, with great attention to detail. The property’s pièce de résistance is the beautiful space created by the high ceiling that seamlessly connects the ground floor with the upper floor. On both floors, you’ll find beautiful bedrooms, which invite you to daydream, sleep in and unwind...
Both the patio doors in the living room and the kitchen door allow you to head out to the south terrace. From the dining room, you walk onto the north terrace. Several nice seating areas have been created for you to enjoy the serene silence of the surrounding nature with its cypress trees and sunflower fields. Next to the pool, you have a beautiful pool house with a large kitchen at your disposal - perfect for preparing salads for the barbecue or for grabbing a cold white wine or rosé from the fridge. Have a relaxing lunch or dinner under the veranda or enjoy a drink by to the pool while you make plans for the next day. The charming local Bastide towns are waiting to welcome you!

Beautiful spacious loft where children can play. There are many children's books and toys like Lego, Duplo, Playmobil, Knex, Kapla and blocks for building a marble track. There are also games, puzzles and a collection of Dutch and English books.Bedroom 2: double bed (1.50 x 2.00) with ensuite bathroom with washbasin, bath with shower and toilet.
Bedroom 3: double bed (1.80 x 2.00) with ensuite bathroom with double washbasin, bath, separate shower and toilet.
Bedroom 4: double bed (1.50 x 2.00) with ensuite bathroom with double washbasin, large shower and toilet. This bathroom is shared with bedrooms 5 and 6 and is also accessible from the landing.
Bedroom 5: 2x single bed (0.90 x 2.00). On request this can also be made into a double bed.
Bedroom 6: 2x single bed (0.90 x 2.00).
Despite the fact that there is a bedroom on the ground floor and the entrance to the house has no threshold, the house and garden are less suitable for disabled people. The differences in height and unpaved paths in the garden and the narrow door of the downstairs bedroom and size of the bathroom make it more difficult for people in wheelchairs to stay comfortably in the house.

Via a long private drive you reach the house that is situated on 3,5 hectares of private grounds.

This house is equipped with a number of measures to reduce water and energy consumption to reduce the impact on the environment and surroundings.
The roof is equipped with enough solar panels to meet expected energy consumption.
Hot water and (pool) heating are provided by a heat pump.
There is a large rainwater collecting system in the barn for garden irrigation.
Waste separation (plastic, paper, glass and residual waste).
All windows are double-glazed.
All ground floor windows have shutters and on the first floor all windows have blackout curtains to keep the heat out.

What a wonderful holiday home! We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Chavie; the house is perfect for a large group of family or friends - it's very spacious, well set out and very well equipped. We all enjoyed the outside space too - loved the different seating areas & the pool. Would love to return sometime!

Together with a number of families we had an unforgettable time at this particularly beautiful place last December 2021. We were all impressed! The traditional country house with wide corridors, several living rooms, large French kitchen and spacious bedrooms is beautiful and very attractive. The spacious layout and cosy seating areas make it peaceful even with a large group of people and children. It is located in an idyllic, hilly area with a lot of privacy. From the terrace you can enjoy the beautiful views. We have intensely enjoyed this unique place, the outdoor life, cooking and dining together at a beautiful long table, the beautiful conversations at the crackling campfire... We can't wait to go back!
OUR TIPS FOR THE AREA
Lot-et-Garonne
This property is located in the Lot-et-Garonne; just south of the Dordogne. The landscape is beautiful with gently rolling hills, cypresses, vineyards, fruit trees and sunflower fields. The name of the department says it all: not only the Garonne flows through the department, but also the beautiful Lot, a lovely river for canoeing, swimming or picnicking on one of the beaches along the bank. There are more than 400 marked cycle and hiking trails and during the summer you can go to the famous "marchés gourmand"; evening markets where the products offered by the local producers in their market stalls are eaten at long tables. This is also the region where the idea of the popular food markets comes from.
