The owner of your luxury holiday villa is a prominent architect, as can be seen in every detail. He created this cube-shaped house himself. After designing and building more than a hundred traditional houses, he seized the opportunity to build a very modern house for himself. It features the most breathtaking windows, from the floor to the roof, merging the inner space with the outdoors. The large amount of daylight and the ever-present landscape create the feeling of being in nature. The beautiful, endless view of the valley and the forests will make you forget the rest of the world.

Original French and British paintings and sculptures are eye-catching features throughout the house and garden. The lower ground floor is an almost self-contained apartment with two bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms, one of which is ensuite. Both offer access to a private terrace through patio doors. On the ground floor, you will find the stylishly furnished, two-storey living room with stunning Focus fireplace – the perfect place to enjoy a good book with a glass of wine and the company of your loved ones and children. The dining and kitchen area is also located on this floor and includes a breakfast bar and a large dining table. Nature is always within reach, thanks to the huge glass bi-fold doors, where an adjacent covered terrace invites you to relax outside. Finally, the upper floor offers a small terrace as well as a beautiful king size bed and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The roof can be reached via the spiral staircase, where you can get a bird’s-eye view of the surrounding treetops.

The heated infinity pool is adjacent to the large terrace. From here, guests can enjoy an unspoilt view of the valley below the house and the rolling landscape beyond, or relax on one of the sun loungers in the garden. The steep meadow area of the garden is not cut for part of the year so as to encourage and protect the many animals present. There are more than thirty species of butterflies, numerous deer and red squirrels.

Next to the pool you find a timber garden room, perfect for yoga, reading or an office out of the house. It has fabulous views over the pool and down into the valley. This is where the outside cushions are all stored.

If you want to take a step out of your sheltered holiday paradise, the small medieval hilltop village of Lusignac, where you can see the chateau and the historic church, is within walking distance. There is also a beautiful bar/café/restaurant where you can eat and drink overlooking the chateau and church under the shade of a polonia tree. The city of Périgueux is around 35 km away, while the market town of Riberac, with its famous Friday morning market and a wide choice of galleries, shops and supermarkets, is around 8 km from the villa.
